Spent the half of the day after the management meeting pouring over the PySNMP codebase, trying to decide whether to use PySNMP 4.x or whether to try to teach PySNMP-se 3.5.x how to handle full-featured Agent-side operations. Still no particular resolution. PySNMP 4.x will require some surgery to work with TwistedSNMP, but it does have the MIB support that we want/need.
Having risen at some unreasonable hour this morning I'm seriously considering just going to bed and sleeping until tomorrow. Tried writing some thoughts down for the thesis, but I'm just too tired to write at any length.

Yes, only references in dicti onaries are replaced, so hold ing references in lists, tuple s, etceteras keeps them alive.
