Hmm, last post sounded very negative... (Don't post before the first coffee of the morning)


Looking at the problem again, it seems obvious that there is a story trying to get through the mess of the presentation;

"Descriptors: from functions to decorators".

That is, a sort of creation myth of the generalisation of the wart/exception in Python 2.1 into a generic, but somewhat difficult to use mechanism in Python 2.2 and 2.3 that, though awkward, was compelling enough to spawn at least 4 or 5 projects, and finally to a large and growing family of descriptors and decorators in Python 2.4. Looking into the future we see the various descriptor and decorator based projects expanding across the Python universe, bringing light and joy to all they touch, healing sickness and disease and binding together a divided humanity...

But with a more upbeat ending.
