Since the Bruce Trail hike was canceled (both partners sick), I was contemplating spending the entire weekend working. I don't mind working, but it's unbelievably gorgeous outside, and I feel a little stupid sitting inside.

So, called up my former girlfriend to see if she felt liking going out for coffee. Instead she proposed going to a Merchant of Venice production at the University this evening. I won't get a tan, but at least I'll be out of the house. MofV is one of the first Shakespearean plays I read. It's one of those that University productions often mess up (it's too easy to lose the humanity of Shylock and make him a caricatured monster (of course, he is plotting murder...)).
