The best kind of parties (Deep conversations deep into the night...)

Trying to wind down from the party @ Sacha's this evening (got home an hour ago). It was exactly the kind of dinner party I love, lots of banter and wit over dinner with a healthy dose of philosophy, psychology and social commentary to round out the evening. Great cheesecake is a significant plus too. I really do need to get out more so that I don't feel such a strong impulse to talk all the time when I'm out. Listening is important.

In other news, Rose's printer refuses to print this week's invoice. GNUCash's PDF and HTML generation for the invoices is horribly broken. The PDFs won't even load on the windows PDF viewer and the HTML looks like it was scrambled (and it has mismatched tags all over the joint). I seriously considered writing a stand-alone Python app to print invoices from a GNUCash file this afternoon.

I think it's not a Windows problem, but a font problem. For example, I have someone on Windows generating invoice PDFs with GnuCash. However, when they send the document to my Mac, it opens with [] square characters only. Ergo, font problem.<br />

What font does GnuCash use? Can you change it to something universal like Arial or Times? And if not, where must the rest of us poor saps download the GnuCash front from in order to read invoices from vendors who use it?
