Step 1: Get Windows Updated

Booted into Windows to get the PyOpenGL-Accelerate release compiled, and started following my standard "update windows, AV definitions, etc" pre-release steps... and Windows Update failed. Lots of fail (and 3 hours of trolling through MS support and trying dozens of different fixes intended to reset/verify/cleanup Windows Update state) later I wound up with some Windows Fixit thing that managed to tweak whatever lever was in the wrong place so that the update can actually start.

It's a good thing to boot into Windows every once in a while to remind yourself what it was like.

[Update] And step 2 was to run out of time before I got anything compiled. 3 hours and 45 minutes to get the OS updated, and now I need to get VSExpress 2010 installed (as well as Python 3.4rc1, Numpy, Pygame etc).  2010 Express install just blocked on actually getting the ISO to mount in Windows 7 (seriously, that's not built in yet?). Python 2.4 just got blocked by the Windows Updates running in the background.  All in all a wasted morning.

Why on earth are you still playing with Python 2.4rc1 when 3.4rc1 has just come out? :)

    Yes, typo on 2.4 vs 3.4 :)
