Full-speed Dev Environment that "Just Works" (May be...)

Just downloaded and installed the Sugar packages for Ubuntu (Gutsy). Seems to have simply worked out-of-the-box, just click "install, apply-updates" and a few minutes later there's the Sugar environment. Still need to see if everything works and I can add my own activities, but promising looking. If it worked on Gentoo too I'd be very, very happy.

Anyway, off to the Caffe (finally) to get started setting things up for the Toronto Game Sprint.

Did this work for you? Mine launches but activities are stuck at a red icon.

It seemed to be working, but later tests seemed to suggest that I was actually seeing 1/2 packages, 1/2 sugar-jhbuild. In the end I had to strip out the packages, rebuild some screwed up symlinks and go back to sugar-jhbuild (once I got it to build again).

Looks like we're back to using sugar-jhbuild for the time being.

Thanks for the update. I updated my system just now and it's working! (Browser url's didn't load, so I have to recheck network connectivity).

The option to log into it was quite cool.
(Yeah, I'm a Linux noob.)

Looking forward to the next sugar-jhbuild.
