Today we spent the day with Qemu. The Qemu images are able to run the Sugar images, including networking. With that we were able to start looking at patterns for working with the emulated images. We also spent much of the day trying to get the kernel driver for the pcnet32 compiled for the laptop kernel (so people can use VMWare too).

Spent some time on trying to get various libraries installed onto the laptop images (e.g. gcc, subversion, bazaar) so that developers will have a reasonable environment for working. Tomorrow we're going to try to write up the experiences into a "developing with emulation" documentation.

John has spent most of the day working on getting the images to resize so that we can add new software to them during development. He's tantalizingly close, just needs to get the new "disks" to be bootable.

Didn't even get around to checking email today. Have a bug that must be fixed before the end of the month. Need to work on that. I'm trying the sugar-jhbuild thing again, it's up to 19 of 141 packages, but I need to sleep now.
