When did I lose the joy in playing with new computers? (Not even remotely a hardware guy any more...)

Dad gave Rosey a new laptop a week or two ago. I've been dragging my heels on getting it set up for her, but tonight I decided to get cracking on it. Nothing too involved, getting the networking set up, checking out what's there, figuring out how to install Linux on it so I can use it in a pinch if my machine dies, that kind of thing.

Knoppix boots fine, seems to recognise just about everything (it's an Acer). I'll have to resize the second partition, which is 26GB but is using only about 1MB.

[Editor's note: Steve pointed out that this post got chopped in half and repeated. I can't remember what the rest of the post was about, so I guess that will have to be the end of it.]

[I edit my own posts for technical problems like this all the time, incidentally. It's *other people's* posts/comments that I try not to edit.]
