Pause admidst the orgy of consumerism... (Last minute shopping often turns ugly)

Rosey did most of our gift-shopping for the year, but I still have a couple of gifts to pick up, and I just got back from doing the grocery shopping.

Nice thing: as I was leaving, the bus driver pulled to the stop and waited for a break in traffic so I could catch the bus. Not-so-nice thing: on the trip home, different bus driver decided I was too slow getting to the door (wrestling 40 pounds of food over the heads of a crowd of children and mothers on a moving bus is somewhat slow), so took off before I could get off. Result was that I had to carry said 40 pounds of food a couple of blocks in a "Bin" and a backpack (did not make my hands happy).

Anyway, upshot of all that is that I'm taking 20 minutes here to recuperate before charging back into the commercial fray. Still haven't decided what to buy, planning to let the spirit of the solstice guide me... though I suppose I should decide where I'm going before hopping back on the TTC.

I'm debating whether to go down to Kensington Market (lots of small shops with unique items), over to Yonge and Eglinton (very pricey stores, but I know them all from living there a while back), or down to Dufferin Mall (traditional suburban mall nestled in the urban heartland).

I'd prefer to go to Kensington, if for no other reason than that it's a nicer place to be, but gifts for those still on my list likely shouldn't be too unique or original... they're more into gift certificates for the Gap, or books, or... I don't know. Argh I hate shopping.
