A Perfect Day

It's beginning to rain
As I walk in the door
Breaking the dense heat
Of a summer's city day
There's smoke in the air
You wanted to see
Whether you could build
A robot from an old TV
Your face covered in soot
Hair pinned up with pens
Bright smile flashing out
As it crawls across the floor
Its eyes don't feel the fumes
You dance around the room
I take you out to celebrate
Walking together in the storm
Pounding rain drenching clothes
We stop in the park to feel
Opening to the violent heavens
The last darkness leaves your face
Washed away in happiness
Joy in living in such a world
And a pounding rainstorm
Breaking life's dense heat

    Toy vs. Loved Boy

Should I piece together a robot
When it’s Love that I would give
Will his programming have him rejoice
That I should let him live
Will his spirit soar
To know of my sacrifice
The lengths to which I’d go
To bring him precious life
Will he strive the way that I strive
To enable him to understand
The vision for his future
The possibilities of his hand

When no variables prove as right
Where Love needs to cover a wrong
Will he override his programming
So his development progresses along
Or will he bog down in the numbers
Trying to mathematically control
The error that’s occurred
That seems would jeopardise his soul
If I create a programmed robot
He’ll do only that which he’s programmed to do
If one is to comprehend my Love
A robot will surely never do

I must create a child
With free thought control
Who can replicate the Love I give
As this his life will extol
Such exchange brings understanding
That truly renders Love complete
Yet few it would be fathom this devotion
Outside the spiritually minded elite
True love overrides programmed reasoning
It is that which transcends self
To the end of another’s harmonious unity
This, the secret of Love’s Divine wealth
Heart Art

If the world were painted
In only brilliant colour
Without impending black and grey
The splendor of Love’s glorious array
We never should discover

Love takes not up a brush to paint
It penetrates through to the heart
If our eyes this depth can see
Love is in very essence
The true created art
