Wound up unable to get to sleep until 7 or 8 in the morning. Then was woken up at 10 or so. Have been largely non-functional all day as a result. Began implementing the performance changes. The storage, calculation and retrieval is all working... now I just need to get it hooked back up to the UI in such a way that it isn't unbearably ugly.

In the reworking, I've been paying particular attention to being able to provide Bryan's textual overview trees. They're still going to be heavy, but I've done quite a bit of work to make them less of an "invest in land before you start the report" item and more of a "well, you may need to go get a coffee" item. That's for the highest levels only, for the lower levels of the various hierarchies it should be fine.

Anyway, Bryan didn't wind up coming over to discuss the SIP project, so that should happen tomorrow... which (again) means I should be getting to bed right around now... which means leaving the performance rewrite not yet finished. Sigh.

On a more positive note, Lara and Shane are planning on getting together this weekend and have invited me along. Mmm conversation :) .
