Rome fills up cards fast... (3 hours per 500MB)

Hit the colloseum, Palantine's palace and the Fora this morning. Ran out of space on the camera even with rather sparing use once we hit Palantine's place. Another bug showed up on the billing system, will have to work on that this evening I suppose.

Right now we're recharging the camera and Soni's batteries, then we're off to see more of the wonderful world of Rome.

    I finally experimentally started using a flickr account. I find it quite annoying in many ways, though it's quite neat in some ways... and definitely makes tossing up pictures almost too easy. The main problem being the upload time (probably especially an issue on the road as you are) -- i use the digikam Flickr export plugin. There's an interesting feature where you can drop you pictures on a google-maps like interface to geo-locate the shots ... kind of fun. Anyhow, all i'm saying is that it'd be nice to see more of these flash-card-filling-pictures. Consider it!<br />

    I've been trying in the margins here and there to get it to work. For some reason it keeps trying to use Konqueror to authenticate itself and while I've had it work once by copying the URL into Firefox and logging in, it forgot the login once I closed the dialog and I haven't been able to duplicate that.<br />
    <br />
    I closed the dialogue because I couldn't figure out how to tell it to just use the tags I've added to the photos. I spent hours and hours adding the tags once, I really don't want to have to re-add them.<br />
    <br />
    At some point I also need to figure out how to merge two digikam databases so that I can add the trip pictures (tagged on the laptop's db) to the main photo archive on Raistlin. Sigh. No time for that.
